There’s a longing deep within individuals for security. At many points in history and many different locations on the earth there has been a drift toward reliance on earthly authority. The article highlights some of those longings in the current, modern context and, no matter how well intentioned, the security offered by government comes up short. So are we hopeless, are we helpless? By no means! The Bible details the secret of this longing and the only sufficient remedy to fulfill it. Christ Jesus, the author or our faith and lover of our souls, fashioned the human heart in such a way to create a void that only He can fill. Sincere faith in the triumphant work of Jesus on the cross is the key that unlocks transcendent peace, indestructible hope, and abundant joy that no earthly authority can come close to providing.
